 Melissa has a been an Assistant director for SCVC based out of Redondo Beach CA since 2007.  She has been invovled in junior club volleyball as a player and a coach since 1992. She spent her playing career as a junior player at Orange County Volleyball Club,  Orange County, CA; she won two Festival Titles in 16's & 18's Divisions. Prior to that she was a local standout at Fountain Valley High School where she lead the Barons on varsity for four years, 1994-1998;  bringing home a CIF Division 1 Title in 1997. She was a 2-Time All-Sunset League and was crowned Sunset League"Most Valuable Player" in 1997. Melissa was  All-CIF 1996 and 1997 and was named a high school All-American as a junior.  Melissa continued her playing career at Pepperdine University, Malibu CA 1998-2001. As a Wave she lead them to a Overall record of 92-26 (.780), including a 51-5 (.911) mark in WCC; 2 conference titles, advanced to the NCAA Tournament all four years and reached the "Sweet 16" three times. Top 20 for 4 seasons, including a then best-ever No. 8 ranking by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) following a 23-4 season. Setter; Pepperdine's all-time career hitting percentage leader with a .359 mark and ranks third on the school's career assist list with 3,599; 2000, led Pepperdine and the WCC with a school-record .411 hitting percentage. While a freshman at Pepperdine Melissa embarked on her coaching career as a 16's coach for Sports Shack Volleyball Club, under the mentorship of Current Club Director Tim Jensen she was able to grow for 6 years as a assistant and head coach for multiple Sport Shack Teams, highlighted by 2001-02 Co-Head Coach Sport Shack 16-1. She also returned to Pepperdine in 2003 to be an Assistant Coach, where the Waves were 27-3; lost in the Sweet Sixteen NCAA Tournament. 2003-2004 Joined SCVC as 14 Nike Head Coach, led team to Silver Medal Junior Olympic Invitational; 2005 She then moved to Naples, FL where she  took over the Baron Collier High School Volleyball program and was the Head Varsity Coach. Returning to her roots again she was back on staff with SCVC in 2007 and took the 14 Nike team to Open Division at the Junior Olympics in Dallas, TX.

Melissa earned her Bachelors Degree from Pepperdine 2002, was born July 5, 1980 and lives in Fountain Valley with her husband, USC Alum 2002 Matt Boice, and two kids, Taylor (2.5 yrs.) and J.R. (1.5yrs).

Prior to joining UC Irvine, Weishoff served the past five seasons as head coach at Concordia University, Irvine, which won 146 matches during her tenure. She guided the Eagles to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national finals twice and the semifinals on two other occasions in her five years at the university. Weishoff was named NAIA Coach of the Year this season after leading Concordia to a 31-6 overall record and the national championship match. Two of her players were named to the NAIA All-America first team at the conclusion of the season.

Weishoff competed for the U.S. Olympic women's volleyball team in 1984, 1992 and 1996. She won a silver medal and was named Most Valuable Player with the '84 team in Los Angeles. She also captured a bronze at the `92 Games in Barcelona where she was voted the MVP of the Olympic Games.

She was part of three Division I national titles at USC - one as a player in 1980 and two as an assistant coach (2002 and 2003). She served on the USC staff from 1997-2004 and was promoted to associate head coach in 2003. Weishoff was inducted into the USA Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1998 and was named to the USA Volleyball 75th Anniversary All-Era (1978-2002) Team in 2003. She was a 2005 inductee into the USC Hall of Fame.

She competed in professional leagues overseas in Japan, Brazil and Italy. Weishoff was MVP of the Italian League from 1986-89.
